About
Hi! I am Nishita (she/her), and I am a Counselling Psychologist/ Psychotherapist. I have completed my Masters in Lifespan Counselling from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai where I received formal training to conduct therapy with people of all age groups.
Therapy is a collaborative relationship where I, as a therapist, would provide you a confidential and non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings and behavioral patterns. I would offer you my reflections and perspectives, teach you strategies or simply be there for you as a fellow traveler in your journey of life. We can work on reframing unhelpful thought patterns, regulating difficult emotions, identifying your core values in life and much more, depending on what your goals are.
In my practice, I draw inspiration from the humanistic and post-modern schools of thought and use a strengths-based approach. I also incorporate bodywork, art therapy, and mindfulness practices. I strive to be culturally sensitive in my work and actively engage in educating myself to understand the lived experiences of people from diverse backgrounds. I am trauma-informed and queer affirmative. I can converse in English and Hindi to suit your preferences.
