About

Namaste. I’m Anya Reddy, a trained Play Therapist based in Bengaluru, India. My journey in Play Therapy began in 2017.

Play therapy is to children what counseling is to adults. It utilizes play, children's natural medium of expression, to help them express their feelings more easily through toys instead of words.

What sets my practice apart is my unwavering commitment to empathy, strong intuition, and trust in myself. With each child, I strive to create a space of deep respect, acceptance, and kindness. Collaborating closely with parents is integral to my approach, as I believe in supporting the entire family unit on their journey towards healing and growth.

Inclusivity is at the heart of my practice. I am proud to declare my practice an LGBTQIA+ friendly space. Every child and family, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation, is warmly welcomed and supported here.

I am trained in various therapeutic modalities, including child-centered play therapy, synergetic play therapy, video game-based play therapy, nature-based play therapy, art-based therapy, and personal counseling. These innovative approaches allow me to connect with children by aligning with their unique interests, helping us foster a meaningful therapeutic relationship. Additionally, I view my work through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing the impact of trauma on children’s lives and ensuring that my practice is sensitive, supportive, and empowering.

Though I’m based in Bengaluru, I offer both in-person and online sessions, ensuring accessibility and flexibility for families. While my professional journey has taken me across borders, I’m rooted in my Indian heritage, having been born and raised in Chennai.

It’s truly a blessing and an honour to walk alongside children and families, empowering each of them to unlock their full potential, one playful moment at a time.
