I am a professionally qualified psychotherapist as per COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy Scotland). I am passionate about offering emotional support and hold my client's emotional safety and confidentiality above all. I offer both short term as well as long term counselling. The length of my work depends primarily on what my client is looking for and how we are best able to work out a way to support his/her needs. This means that we will be working on exploring your unconscious themes and patterns- what your deep rooted feelings and concers say about how you're feeling. This typically needs long term work.
I believe that most of our emotional struggles and patterns in the present are rooted in earlier experiences and relational ruptures. Giving voice to feelings that belong there help us move towards a place of self acceptance and emotional integration. I've worked with several issues and forms of psychological distress and I appreciate that everybody's experience of said issues will be unique to them.
My theoretical application is primarily psychodynamic and I also use techniques from the person-centred school of thought.
