About
My name is Kuntal Vora. I have completed my Masters in Counseling Psychology from SNDT University in the year 2015. I have done Advanced Diploma in Counseling Psychology from Prafulta (2017 – 2018) and did my training in Intensive Clinical Training in Psychotherapy from Desouza Foundation. I have done a certification course in Introduction of Narrative Therapy from Ummeed Child Development Center. I have been trained in Marital Psychology from Ramnivas Ruia College. Currently, I am training in Play Therapy from National Association of Play Therapy, India. I am also getting trained in counseling survivors of Child Sexual Abuse from HEAL Foundation, Mumbai.
With my 5 years of experience in Counseling, I intuitively relate with the understanding of human nature and workings of human behaviour ultimately aimed at the overall well-being. I am persuasive, empathetic, curious and determined at finding at strengths and weaknesses in individuals so as to help improve behavioural and emotional responses. I use psychosocial lens to view distress, this means that while working in therapy, I not only try and understand what personal traits might be causing the person distress but also spend a significant amount of time understanding what are the socio-political reasons for their distress. I also use strength-based approach to counseling which means that we focus on what are the existing strengths and resources an individual has and how can we make use of those existing resources to overcome the distress and individual might be facing.
I have worked successfully in the areas of Anxiety, Stress, Aggression, Academic Concerns, Career Concerns, Adjusting to Change or Life transitions, Communication Issues, ADHD issues, Addiction issues, Adolescent issues and Family issues. I use therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal therapy, Play therapy and Person centered therapy.
My view of therapy is simple: it's about helping you to make the changes you want to make. So, let's speak. People usually find me easy to talk to, open-minded, calm and helpful.
